This article from Diversity and Education talks about the the most basic terms that can cause contention or carry intentional or unintentional implications. A phase that has been taken been taken both positve and negative depending on who has it and which way it is being used is multicultural education. Another is diversity and these two phrase cannot be avid in education. The focus on race, language, and learning are factors tht make up education and diversity. Having multicultural education helps because the children can benifit from the experinces of other children. Practicing certain exercises in class can help open the horizons for many student that can in return help benefit the scares in test and have more academic achievements.
This articles is one of my favorites because they encourage multicultural education and do not feel as though having different ethnicities can bring a school down. The eduactors encourage different background to share amongst the class. It feeds the minds of others and to open up to new experiences rahter than sitting around reading from a book. Interaction is key to a successful eduaction and also shows on test scores.

This article is about the collaboration of a teacher staff members at diverse elementary school. " The goal was to collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff in an average urban elementary school to improve the academic success of all students and all students groups regardless of the race, ethnicity, and family income of the students and their families." ( McKenzie, Kathryn Bell and Scheurich, James Joseph,2008). The main purpose of this artcile was to approach a successful school research that proposed primarily research based on working side by side with educators at a school that is mainly consistant with colour and children from lower income homes. The article talks about wanting to know how to achieve the gap between successful achievements to lower achievements performed by higher income children and lower income. Baker elementary was an example of a school that consisted of a diverse group of children that was sixty percent Hispanic, twenty-five percent African American, fourteen percent were white, and one percent Asian-Pacific Islanders. No more than forty percent of the children were English language learners and vast majority were economically disadvantaged. One of the problems at the school was the lack of diversity amongst the teaching staff.
Reading this article really made me think of the schools in California. For example, the elementary school my younger cousin went to had a vast majority of Hispanics and African Americans. Hispanics had the highest percentage and most or not all come from families that have a low income. I went to a parent teacher conference with my aunt because she could not communicate with her son's teacher. Most of the educators at the school were white and females that had no idea about the ethnicities or even the language that would at least break the language barriers amongst teacher and parents. Most of the students at the school only knew how to speak spanish. The educator had no way to communicate nor help there student succeed. I believe having a diverse staff is necessary due to the fact that situation may occur that having similar or at least an idea of what is happening at the schools as educators is a necessary.

This article reports a research that implies a different view of assessment work experience in teacher eduaction. By surpassing the typical stereotypes of failing student teahcers who
do not succeed in traditional benchmarks."This new lens highlights the complexity, diversity and inequality of experiences through listening to the voices of the student teachers and their mentors." (Rorrison, Doreen, 2010). Just by focusing on the context and progress can help develop rather than By valuing context and focusing on progress and development rather than unequivocal attainment. The educators are challenged on reflecting on their own personal roles as mentors and educator. This can all be guided through principles of through guiding principles of pratical experiences." These guiding principles of practicum learning are the result of significant observation in the practicum classroom followed by critical analysis of data provided as narrative. A more humane, trusting and respectful attitude towards assessment is suggested. " ( Rorrison, Doreen, 2010). It also helps educator realize that assessing does not always help a student prosper in academics.

Assesement test are not that trusting when you take them because it does not assest you in all aspects. Sometimes they test you solely on what they think is right for you to know and judge you based on upon it. Educators should be challenged more often because some show personally that they do not care for the students. Students should be able to voice their opinions to their educators or mentors. If they are able to do so this will make the academics a lot easier and vice versa also make the educator look good as well.
